Lufthansa launches London City to Berlin route
January 17, 2008Lufthansa has launched a new twice-daily service from London City Airport to Berlin, claiming the new route represents the fastest journey yet between the two cities.
Flights depart at 9.40am and 6pm from London City, arriving at Berlin's Tegel Airport at 12.25pm and 8.45pm (local time) respectively, while return journeys leave the German capital at 8.30am and 4.50pm, arriving in London at 9.10am and 5.30pm.
Launching the new route, Dr Karsten Benz of Lufthansa said: "Both the business and the leisure travellers will now have a speedy city-to-city connection to either take advantage of Berlin's growing function as an exhibition hotspot or to just discover its cultural attractiveness."
One-way fares on the new route are available from £45, with return journeys available from £79 (including taxes and charges). Members of Lufthansa's Miles & More scheme will also benefit from double miles on all London City to Berlin flights until April 14.
The airline already offers flights from London City to four other German cities: Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
