Luxury lounges for BA passengers at Los Angeles
November 1, 2007British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas have joined forces to create luxury lounges at Los Angeles International Airport that open their doors today (November 1).
First and business class passengers flying with any of these airlines will be able to use the lounges, which have been designed to reflect California's sea and sand culture.
Design features include a series of plasma screens in the reception area, nine showers, work stations equipped with computers, buffet areas, and a bar. Passengers will receive complimentary refreshments, Wi-Fi internet access, newspapers and magazines.
First class passengers will receive a personalised service.
The lounges are located in the airport's Tom Bradley international terminal and will be open between 9am and 2am.
Their construction is the result of a project by oneworld, an airline alliance that offers customers of member airlines a variety of benefits.
Premium passengers flying with the other oneworld airlines that operate from Los Angeles International's Tom Bradley terminal (Japan Airlines and LAN) will also be able to use the lounges.
The latest addition to the oneworld alliance is Dragonair, a Hong Kong-based airline. Members of the British Airways frequent flyer scheme will now be able to earn awards on Dragonair, which flies to 19 destinations in mainland China.
