Virgin Holidays lounge to open at Gatwick
October 24, 2007Virgin Holidays is getting ready to open a new airport lounge at Gatwick Airport, dedicated to leisure travellers.
The V ROOM will open next spring and will be for the exclusive use of Virgin Holidays customers, whatever class they may be travelling in.
Designed with three separate areas (kids, adults-only and family), the lounge covers 7,340 square feet and has views of the airport's runways through floor-to-ceiling windows.
In the kids area there is internet access and video games; in the family friendly area there is a soft play area for younger children, and other games to keep the family amused; and in the adults zone there will be space to surf the net and read a newspaper.
As well as this there will be a café serving complimentary food (hot and cold), with menus including pastries, sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt.
Virgin Holidays managing director Amanda Wills commented: "Our customers know that they always get more on a Virgin Holiday and V ROOM, the first lounge of its kind to be opened by a tour operator, is yet another 'extra' that separates us from the competition.
"We listen to all our customers, and they are varied. That's why V ROOM's entertainment offering has been carefully thought out to cater for them all, from toddlers to grandparents."
Virgin flies to sunshine destinations in the Caribbean and the US from Gatwick.
Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic has improved its offering for business class passengers at Heathrow Airport, with an 'Upper Class Wing' promising the fastest check-in process in the world (see related Cheapflights story).
