Heathrow Express to run to Terminal 5
September 14, 2007The Heathrow Express train service that runs from Paddington station to Heathrow Airport will offer services to Terminal 5 when it opens next year.
The new terminal, which opens its doors in March 2008, will be home to virtually all British Airways' Heathrow flights and will expand the passenger capacity of the airport to around 90 million.
Heathrow Express trains will leave Paddington every 15 minutes, taking 15 minutes to reach Terminals 1, 2 and 3. After a short stop, they will reach Terminal 5 eight minutes later. Passengers for Terminal 4 can change at the first stop and take a free inter-terminal transfer service.
Heathrow Express managing director Brian Raven noted that the extended service would support the smooth running of the new terminal.
"We want to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our passengers as Heathrow airport becomes Europe's leading gateway," he said.
"By implementing these changes we can ensure that passengers continue to find their journey to and from the airport fast, frequent, comfortable and relaxing."
Single tickets for the Heathrow Express cost £15.50 (£14.50 if bought online), or £24.50 (£23.50 online) for First Class.
