Birmingham gets link to Madrid

Low-cost operator bmibaby is to start a new service between Birmingham and Madrid, providing the only service to the Spanish capital from the West Midlands.
Four flights a week will be offer, starting on December 7, and one-way tickets start from £24.99 and brings the total number of destinations served by bmibaby at Birmingham International Airport to 22.
Madrid is one of eight new destinations that bmibaby will fly to for winter 2007 from the airport with Barcelona, Faro, Glasgow, Jersey, Lisbon, Murcia and Rome Fiumicino also added to the airline's route map.
David Hodge, marketing director of bmibaby, said: "It is great to be able to announce another new route from Birmingham Airport with the launch of our new four times a week service to Madrid, the capital of Spain. Madrid is such a vibrant, cosmopolitan city that will appeal to people of all ages, whether it’s a cultural weekend break or somewhere to party the night away."
