Ryanair and Brussels Charleroi reach agreement
August 28, 2007Ryanair has reached an agreement with Brussels Charleroi Airport. The Irish airline has released flights for sale from November, after suspending them over fears of wildcat strikes grounding aircraft.
The airline welcomed a pact between the Belgian government and unions which guarantee that any strikes will be accompanied by a minimum of 48 hours’ notice in order to allow passengers to make alternative arrangements.
Seats for travel after November 12 can now be booked, and Ryanair has said they will work closely with Brussels Charleroi Airport to develop new routes.
In June, security guards with civil service status staged a two-day wildcat strike over plans to transfer them to private (albeit subsidised) airport management firms
Ryanair offers a number of routes from Brussels Charleroi including flights to Dublin, Stansted and Prestwick.
