Air China unveils new first class on London to Beijing route
June 11, 2007Air China is to launch new first and business class cabins on the London to Beijing route on June 21.
Improvements to the first class service on board the Airbus 340 aircraft that fly between the UK and Chinese capitals will include new seats that can be adjusted into three positions: standard, executive and rest.
In the rest position, the chair reclines by a full 180 degrees, thereby becoming a 75-inch flat bed. In business class, seats can be reclined to 170 degrees and have a spacious 60-inch pitch.
Both cabins will feature 10.4-inch LCD screens so that passengers can make the most of their state-of-the-art personal entertainment systems, which themselves have an extensive movie and audio selection, together with interactive games.
Multiple power sockets are available to all passengers in first and business class, and the cabins are also enhanced by an adjustable mood lighting system that "creates sunrise, sunset, dawn and night ambiance for passengers".
Air China, China's national airline, flies from London Heathrow.
