easyJet launches new Gatwick to Pisa route
April 4, 2007
EasyJet has launched a new route between Gatwick Airport and Pisa.
Operating daily, flights to the famous Italian city will cost from £24.99 one-way, including taxes (£42.98 return).
On weekdays, flights depart Gatwick at 2.10pm, touching down in Pisa at 5.20pm. On the way back, flights leave Italy at 5.45pm, arriving back in England at 6.55pm.
Saturday flights will take off at 11.10am, arriving in Pisa at 2.20pm; on the way back they leave Pisa at 2.50pm and get back at 4pm.
On Sundays, flights depart Gatwick at 2.05pm, getting to Pisa at 5.15pm, and return at 5.45pm, touching down in London at 6.55pm. All times are local.
Pisa is, of course, known best of all for its Leaning Tower, but there is much more to see and enjoy including: fine architecture, great weather and terrific food. EasyJet expects to carry more than 100,000 passengers on the route during the first year of operation.
On July 4, the budget carrier will launch another Italian route from Gatwick, this time to Palermo, Sicily.
"Italy is fast becoming one of the favourite European destinations for Brits; the addition of Pisa - and Palermo later this summer - means easyJet will operate to a choice of ten Italian airports from across the UK, seven of which are served from Gatwick," said the airline's Paul Cable.
