Singapore Airlines launches mobile alert service
March 30, 2007Singapore Airlines is offering an improved mobile service that will alert passengers to any flight delays via their mobiles.
Those flying with the airline can give their mobile phone number to their travel agent, or at www.singaporeair.com, and the airline will send a text message alert if their flight is rescheduled.
The SMS message, which will only be sent if there is a significant delay, will indicate the new flight time. It will be sent between 3 and 48 hours before the original departure time.
Registered members of the carrier's website can log in to update their mobile numbers in their profile.
Singapore Airlines also allows passengers to look for flight schedule information using their mobiles, and to check in for flights. The service can be used up to 48 hours before departure, and is available to Singapore Airlines PPS Club or KrisFlyer members.
The airline, which flies from London Heathrow and Manchester, also provides an internet check-in facility.
