Monarch opens online check-in at Gatwick
March 7, 2007Monarch Airlines is to expand its online check-in service to cover passengers travelling on scheduled flights from Gatwick Airport.
The service for travellers heading out of Gatwick joins the existing option for departure from Manchester and Birmingham airports, and will allow passengers to check-in between 24 and four hours before departure.
To use the service Monarch passengers will have to book pre-allocated seats, which costs £5, and the airline is promising to make online check-in available for departures from all its UK airports over the coming months.
Monarch’s Liz Savage said: "We have been delighted by our passengers response to online check-in. Since its introduction in Birmingham and Manchester last year we have already seen up to 22 per cent of our scheduled passengers take advantage of the service, which has helped to speed up the check-in process and reduce the queuing time spent at the airport."
Monarch recently announced the launch of its winter 2007/2008 schedule which will see it operate a number of new flights and increased frequencies on routes to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus.
