Bmibaby 'Open for Business'
March 1, 2007bmibaby, the low-cost airline subsidiary of bmi, has launched an innovative new initiative designed to meet the specific needs of its business passengers.
The 'Open for Business' arrangement is based on the principle that business travellers often have different requirements for their flight. With this in mind, bmibaby has allowed its customers to choose only the services that they actually need, dispensing with superfluous extras.
A number of these services are complimentary and others entail a small fee. Business passengers will now be able to weigh up their options before deciding on a package that most suits their particular journey.
Business travellers who currently travel with bmibaby enjoy a vast array of preferential services, many of which have been introduced to accommodate their specific requirements. If there is a seat available, for instance, passengers are able to catch an earlier return flight than the one originally booked, with no extra cost incurred.
Online check-in is also available to business passengers, with a free website facility that removes the need to queue.
Executive lounges also enhance the bmibaby experience, although access to these areas costs £15. With no weight restrictions on hand luggage, business passengers can also take more of their belongings on board with them, assuming they can lift their bag to the overhead lockers.
Crawford Rix, managing director of the airline, said: "The launch of bmibaby's new business initiative will transform the way people choose to conduct business trips by air.
"Our new 'only choose what you need' approach allows business travellers to select only the services they want to use and avoids the 'inflexibility' of business products offered by existing carriers in the regions as well as their exorbitant cost."
