Link to Liverpool started by Air Malta
October 9, 2006Air Malta is to begin flights to Liverpool from next year, offering passengers the chance to visit the Mediterranean isle.
The new service will begin on May 4, operating twice a week on Monday and Friday, with introductory tickets priced at £31 one-way, excluding fees and charges.
The airline has also announced it will begin flights to Venice from Malta on the same date.
Brian Bartolo, of Air Malta, said: “This is more good news for the local tourism industry in that we estimate to attract to Malta 25,000 additional tourists every year from these two areas.
“This is also more good news for our Maltese customers who will now have the opportunity to visit two new exciting destinations next summer. Since both flights will operate every Friday and Monday we expect that this offer will entice both tourists and Maltese travelling for weekend breaks.”
This is the only link to Malta from Liverpool, although Air Malta does fly to a number of UK airports including Manchester, Birmingham and Heathrow.
