SAS to begin Stockholm to Beijing route
September 18, 2006Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced a new route between Stockholm and Beijing, which will start in April 2007.
The airline, which flies from several airports around the UK (including London Heathrow and City, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh) to points in Scandinavia such as Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki will operate four direct flights per week.
From Stockholm Arlanda Airport, flights will depart at 10.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, touching down at Beijing Capital International Airport at 12.55pm the following day. On the return leg, flights will leave at 2.45pm on the same days, arriving at Stockholm at 6.10pm.
Passengers will fly on Airbus 340 aircraft, which the airline promises will offer "the very highest comfort". All classes offer personal entertainment screens and business class is equipped with flatbeds throughout.
SAS already flies to Beijing from the Danish capital Copenhagen and these flights will continue with the start of the Stockholm route.
