VLM improves cabin comfort
July 4, 2006VLM, the Belgian airline that flies to locations around the UK and Europe from London City Airport, has upgraded its seats to offer improved passenger comfort.
The carrier's fleet of 15 Fokker 50 aircraft will be kitted out with stylish beige seats that are now wider and enhance the ambience of the cabin, giving it a more business-like feel.
The seats are also designed to allow better blood circulation to the legs because of a new ergonomic design and feature special coat hooks so that passengers can hang their jackets and have them close to hand.
Seat pitch has been improved to 32 and 33 inches and the whole seat now tilts, rather than just the seat-backs as is usual in planes.
VLM was voted regional airline of the year 2006 at the ATW awards in Singapore. In the UK it serves London City, Manchester, Liverpool, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
