July 5, 2006Virgin Atlantic chairman Sir Richard Branson is to play a cameo role in the next James Bond film, Casino Royale, along with a Virgin Atlantic plane and company check-in staff.
The billionaire entrepreneur makes his appearance during a scene at Miami Airport, along with his son, Sam.
"I'm just a little excited to be playing a cameo," 55-year-old Sir Richard said.
Also due to star in the 21st Bond film is one of Virgin Atlantic's Airbus A340-600s, as well as airline staff members. The film is due for worldwide release in November, with Daniel Craig starring as the new, edgier 007.
Virgin Atlantic will also play the part of global partner to the movie, helping to promote its release.
"James Bond is original, cool and sophisticated – just like an airline I know," Sir Richard continued. "Having met Daniel Craig and the rest of the team on set, I have no doubt that Casino Royale will be one of the most successful James Bond films ever."
