Online check-in offered by bmibaby at Manchester
June 14, 2006Following its introduction of online check-in to flights from Nottingham East Midlands and some Scottish airports, low-cost airline bmibaby has extended the service to Manchester Airport.
Passengers with hand luggage only will be able to check in through the airline’s website and print out their own boarding cards, thereby avoiding lengthy check-in queues before their flight.
The service is available on flights from Manchester to Alicante, Belfast, Bordeaux, Cork, Jersey, Knock, Malaga, Newquay, Palma, Perpignan and Prague. Travellers must check-in within 24 hours of their scheduled departure time.
bmibaby's commercial director, Steve Burns, said that the service had been warmly welcomed by passengers flying from airports where online check-in is already available.
"The response we've had from passengers so far has been excellent and we are pleased to extend the service to all bmibaby flights from Manchester," he said.
Ryanair and British Airways also offer online check-in services, and easyJet offers self-service check-in kiosks which it intends to roll out to all airports.
