New aircraft for Wizz Air
April 24, 2006Low-cost operator Wizz Air is to add an additional jet to its fleet in a bid to satisfy increased passenger demand for its services.
The new Airbus A320 aircraft, powered by V-2500 engines, will accommodate 180 passengers and has been contracted on a seven-year lease.
Jozsef Varadi, chief executive officer of Wizz Air, said: "The new aircraft comes just in time to serve the expansion of our network.
"We are well on track to deliver the Wizz Air's low fares and unique travel experience to more than three million people in the coming 12 months."
The aircraft will be used to support increased demand for cheap flights in Central and Eastern European and add to Wizz Air's reputation of having one of the youngest fleets in operation by a budget airline, with an average age of three years.
