BA offers card compensation
March 29, 2006British Airways has successfully implemented a new computer solution to make it easier for customers to make complaints and receive compensation when appropriate.
London-based Astute Solutions provided the technology in question, partnering with leading companies in the credit card and currency exchange industries.
The result is that customers can receive compensation in sterling, US dollars or euros, with the amount loaded onto a card that is then handed over the counter.
BA customers can then use this card to access their refunded money at ATM or sales counters across the world.
As the card is activated, the system simultaneously generates a record of the transaction to avoid duplications.
BA's global customer relations manager, Richard Stabbins, said: "Our objective is to avoid service disruption, but when it is unavoidable, our state-of-the-art compensation solution allows us to offset the impact to the customer for a service disruption."
