Manchester to Doha route goes daily
January 31, 2006
Brits bound for the Middle East are set to enjoy more flight options as Qatar Airways announced it would begin a daily service between Manchester and Qatar's capital, Doha, from March 26.
Qatar's national airline already operates four flights a week between the two destinations.
A fifth flight will be added from Sunday, February 12, with flights running daily from Sunday, March 26, The Manchester Evening News reports.
Although a holiday destination in its own right, many UK passengers will use the Doha service as a stop-off point on their journeys out to Asia, South Africa or Australasia.
And Qatar Airways is expected to expand its capacity at other UK airports in 2006.
The move came as the airline announced it was adding a fourth weekly flight from Doha to Shanghai – a popular end destination for Brits heading through the Persian Gulf.
This will bring the airline's total number of scheduled flights between Doha and Greater China to 15.
Qatar Airlines now serves more than 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, flights to India and the Far East.
