Glasgow Airport adds Morocco route
January 4, 2006
Glasgow Airport will begin operating its first flights to Morocco from November, adding to its growing array of exotic summer and winter sun destinations.
Travel agents First Choice will run a weekly service to Agadir on Morocco's North Atlantic coast, with three-star, one-week packages starting at £308 per person, the Glasgow Evening Times reports.
The destination - known for its bustling markets and ancient medinas – was added to cater for the burgeoning local demand for exotic travel.
"We're delighted to see First Choice expanding into Morocco," said Glasgow Airport's Paul White.
"Passengers are much more adventurous than in the past, and are increasingly travelling further afield to more exotic climes."
Glaswegian holidaymakers hungry for international travel will soon be spoilt for choice.
Low-cost airline MyTravel will begin flying from Glasgow to Las Vegas from May while flyglobespan will launch a Florida service in June.
Glasgow Airport celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
