Extra flights to CeBIT
January 19, 2006
Budget airline Air Berlin is laying on extra flights to Germany in March, to accommodate Brits travelling to the world-famous CeBIT IT fair.
As Europe's biggest IT trade event, Hanover's CeBIT fair pulls in thousands of British businessmen and journalists each year.
To accommodate the bulge in demand, the no-frills airline will now be offering three daily flights between Stansted and Hanover between March 9 and 15.
The low-cost airline normally operates just two flights a day.
Tickets cost from £19 one-way, inclusive of taxes and charges. Business people in the north of the UK can fly with Air Berlin from Manchester to Stansted, with one-way tickets starting from £29.
Air Berlin is Europe's third biggest budget airline behind Ryanair and easyJet.
Brits could well become more familiar with the name over the next few years. The budget airline is planning to float on the stock exchange, which could net it up to €700 million for route expansion.
