MyTravelLite to become MyTravel Airways
October 26, 2005MyTravelLite will operate under a new name from the end of this month as part of a major overhaul of operations at the airline.
At present, MyTravelLite operates scheduled flights from Birmingham to popular European destinations, but this is poised to change.
Starting on November 1, the low-cost airline will be called MyTravel Airways, and will operate as a charter airline.
The new airline will offer flights from 22 UK airports, including London Gatwick, Belfast and Nottingham East Midlands to destinations in Europe, North America, Africa and the Caribbean.
MyTravelLite's current scheduled flights will no longer operate to the same timetable, although MyTravel Airways will continue to offer flights from Birmingham to all destinations served by the low-cost airline.
The new airline will be directly run by the package tour operator, MyTravel, which is keen to increase the number of flights it offers.
MyTravelLite has struggled to attract passengers, with many of its flights operating well below capacity.
Tickets and timetables for the new MyTravel Airways flights can be found at the airline's new website.
